Early Career Astronomer and Astrophysicist Focus Session: The Decadal Survey

Driven by input from the scientific community, the Decadal Survey on Astronomy and Astrophysics (Astro2020) will identify science priorities and guide agency investments for the next decade. On October 8-9, 2018, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will host a focus session to provide an opportunity for early career astronomers and astrophysicists to contribute to the decadal survey process. Participants will have the chance to provide input regarding the structure of the decadal survey, the state of the profession, and the future of astronomy and astrophysics. We encourage early tenure-track faculty, postdocs, and senior graduate students to apply to attend by July 16, 2018. Selected participants will be reimbursed for travel. Learn more about the event, check the eligibility requirements, and submit an application on our website. Please share this announcement with early career astronomers and astrophysicists in your department or community who might be interested in applying to participate. For questions about the event, please contact Mia Brown at [email protected].
