DATE CHANGE: Congressional Visits Day

Due to uncertainty in the status of Washington, DC congressional offices with respect to in-person constituent visits, we have chosen to move Congressional Visits Day (CVD) to 2-4 May 2022. We hope this delay will allow enough time for re-opening and a full in-person experience for CVD participants. The application will now remain open until 27 February at 11:59 pm ET. Every year the AAS brings volunteers to Washington, DC, to advocate for federal support of their science with their members of Congress as part of CVD. The CVD aims to introduce scientists to the federal processes that enable their work and empower individuals to advocate for their science.
We typically select approximately 15 volunteers, balancing the program by location, career stage, and experience. Graduate students and early career researchers are especially encouraged to participate. Most travel, housing, and meal costs are reimbursable by the AAS.
Please use our CVD 2022 Sign-Up Form. You’ll need to sign in to the website using your AAS username and password to submit the form. The deadline for applications to AAS CVD 2022 is 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, 27 February 2022. Selected volunteers will be notified by March 2022.
